With big beats, gripping lyrics and catchy melodies, WE ARE US is turning heads as they spread their heartfelt alternative/pop. Their unique musical journey began in 2019 and from its inception singer/songwriter Darren Johnson, guitarist Travis Avery, drummer Colin James, and bassist Kyle MacKillop have stayed committed to the music and each other. They may be just a local band for those that live in Chattanooga, TN but they’ve been described as a “sleeping giant talent”, winning the hearts and ears of fans with every show.
WE ARE US released their first album, A Long Way To Drop in 2022, from which a performance of their song “Counterfeit” appeared in the Emmy Award Winning documentary “Songbirds”. In a radio interview, when asked what the goal was, singer/songwriter Darren Johnson said, “we just want to give all of these songs a life”. Their mission is simple - make music and share it. As part of their relentless pursuit of that mission, they released their single, Need You To Know in 2023 as a preview of their second album dropping in 2024.
